Alexandria Earth Day 2012
2ns Annual Trashion Fashion Show

Trashion Fashion 20112nd Annual Trashion Fashion Show

Our 2011 Alexandria Earth Day celebration featured our first ever Trashion Fashion Show, in which students of all ages created spectacular outfits out of recycled materials. More than 350 students from 14 schools participated in the event by designing, constructing and/or modeling outfits made out of plastic bottles, food containers, plastic bags, newspaper and other discarded materials.

Our innovative fashion show was such a huge success that we have decided to make it a special part of the 2012 event as well!  We have expanded the activity this year to encourage students to showcase recycling not only through fashion, but also through art or song.

Each school will be allocated a short time period on stage to showcase their creations, sing about recycling & the earth or any combination of such.

Rules for the Trashion Fashion Show

  1. It’s to be fun!

  2. No new materials may be used in the upcycled creations.
