Alexandria Earth Day Exhibitors

Non-profits, local organizations, and businesses interested in exhibiting at Alexandria Earth Day can secure exhibit space at the event by filling out the Exhibitor Application. All exhibitors are required to offer an activity for children that invokes the spirit of Earth Day.

The theme for our 2012 celebration is Eco-City Alexandria, which will allow for a wide variety of activities and educational exhibits related to the ten sustainability principles outlined in Alexandria's groundbreaking Eco-City Charter and Environmental Action Plan 2030. These important documents are available at http://alexandriava.gov/Eco-City and should be used to help guide the plans for your exhibit and activities this year.

We are thrilled to announce that the Trashion Fashion Show will be a special part of the event again this year! In 2011, more than 350 students participated in our first fashion show by designing, constructing and/or modeling outfits made out of plastic bottles, food containers, plastic bags, newspaper and other discarded materials. Exhibitors are encouraged to create and model recycled clothing as well!

To reserve FREE exhibit space, please complete the Exhibitor Application by March 23.  The absolute deadline to reserve space is April 6; a fee of $100 will apply to any application received between March 24 and April 6.

The Earth Day Committee will provide each exhibitor with a table (2 ft x 8 ft) and 2 chairs under a large tent. You will be directed to your assigned table when you arrive on the day of the event.

All exhibitors are required to adhere to Zero Waste principles in order to participate in the event. Zero Waste maximizes recycling, minimizes waste, reduces consumption and ensures that products are made to be reused, repaired or recycled back into nature or the marketplace. Please see accompanying information on how to make your exhibit waste free.  Zero Waste guidelines are included in the Exhibitor Application.
